Slugs - the Gardeners' Arch Enemy

SLUGS - every garden has them and every gardener hates them!
Wel at last there seems a good weapon in our battle against the  - the Slug Stop. Slugs don't like contact with copper because when in contact with their slime they get a mild electric shop. Slug Stop is an 8metre fence held in place held in pllce with pllastic pegs. The bottom picture shows it when it's in place.
At £10 I think it's a real bargain.
To make sure the enclosure is slug free after you've put it in place put plates, pieces  of slate, upside down orange or grapefruit halves (after you've removed the segments) inside. Slugs will gather there and can be removed. Do this until no more slugs are caught.
I take my slug catch up to a patch of rough groound and let them go. Not because I can't bear to kill them. There are a lot of reptiles and birds regard them as a delicacy!
